The Apartments at Allegheny
Philadelphia, PA
Project Description:
TN Ward constructed this six-story, 102,000 SF building that houses 105 senior citizen residential units in two phases. Each unit features a barn door that separates the bedroom from the living/dining space. The first floor includes an 8,500 SF senior center with full-service kitchen and dining facilities. The building is constructed with structural steel frame supporting the first floor and metal stud load bearing framing to support floors two thru six with a precast concrete plank floor system. A contemporary façade of fiber-cement panel, brick, stone and metal siding clad the structure. The HVAC system consists of gas-fired hot water boilers on the first floor and roof-top AC condensing units to provide heat & cooling through fan coil units in each apartment. This project was part of a multi-phase campus expansion in North Philadelphia.
