Project Description:

The 8,000 SF building renovation and improvements included exterior masonry updates, roof repairs, new windows and doors, along with new site fencing and signage. Interior renovations encompassed new ADA accessible restrooms, new multi-purpose rooms, renovated gymnasium, updated finishes, new millwork in the kitchenette, and flooring repair/refinishing. Additional upgrades included HVAC system replacement, along with new lighting, electrical system and fire alarm system. The former outside hockey rink was replaced with a new multi-sport mini pitch. A new multigenerational playground and athletic equipment feature a new rubber safety surface. Scope also included refurbishing the basketball courts and adding a courtyard/patio with bench seating and game tables.

The center is located on an existing 3-acre site in the Harrowgate neighborhood and is part of the City of Philadelphia’s Rebuilding Community Infrastructure Program (“Rebuild”).
